Title taken from Psalm 23 in the Bible. Church is a great place to go for renewal. Taken at Powell Gardens near Kansas City, this is the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel. After a couple of comments on the lighting I thought I'd share this bit of info. This chapel appears mostly wooden in this photo, but between every column is a large window. The whole chapel is surrounded by windows including the ceiling. Image originally submitted as "Crying In The Chapel" which was for our Yahoo group's Elvis theme.

Sharon, I like it. Beautiful chapel, clean and simple.

Just wondered if you also tried it with an absolutely symmetrical compaosition from the cnetre of the aisle? The slightly left of centre shooting point doesn't quite work for me. #1541686

Phil Sauvey July 01, 2005

Sharon,

Simply beautiful!!! I am glad your daughter is in the photograph as it puts the chapel in perspective and it adds so much. This photo has so much meaning and anyone who breathes air should be able to relate. What do I see in this photo? The empty seats represent the emptiness or loneliness we sometimes feel. Sometimes we may feel we are alone but in fact, we are not (you are there taking the photograph). We are surrounded by beauty but sometimes we need to open our eyes to see it. The interior of this chapel is made of wood, a product of nature. And Sharon, this works for me!! #1545349
