Description

Moraine Lake
Banff National Park
Alberta, Canada

Well, we are back on the path along the lake again folks.

Can you hear any birds? Any sounds at all?

Well I can tell you this...
It was so quiet here on this day.
There was a dense echo across the
water as anyone would speak.

There aren't too many places I have ever been that have felt like this lake.

(And I have traveled a lot!)

I'll show you more of this placeful place tomorrow, too!

Beautiful capture and effects Laura!! I always love the color you get from the Canadian Rocky lakes and streams. It reminds me of what glacier water must have looked like a few years ago. Like 10,000 years ago that is. Very beautiful work! #8360107

Mr. Tree, you would be among friends in these woods! Lucky trees! :) Even THEY are happy there!

It really is Michelle! More to come tonight!

Gord, Doug, Mary, Kerry! Thanks so much it really is so pretty there!

Dick, Moraine Lake is very close to the world famous Lake named LAKE LOUISE in Banff National park. About a 20 minute or less drive into the back wilderness from L.L.. MOST PEOPLE MISS IT.

It's just a small lake but worth seeing! Locals like it better because it IS so peaceful. It does get very busy in the summer but what place doesn't? :) It well worth seeing if you are ever in Banff National Park. (Canada).

*

Laura, Barbara, Early-Pearl and Cindy! Hi! Thanks so much! The color of the water changes daily, depending on the weather and sky but it really CAN be turquoise. It was on this day but I saturated the color in fract mode to really show it at it's best! :) !!!

*

Hi Ann, Tommy and Brett and Lynne! You'd really love this place. I hope you can come see it all someday! (If you haven't already!)

Thanks all for the visit!

-Laura :)

It sure brings back a lot of memories the last time we've been there. It's a beautiful country you've got and I wish I had more time to admire the turquoise like waters and breath-taking scenery. It's one beauty after another as these attractions are close to each other. I'll be back... someday soon! #8361981

Gorgeous color and effects, Laura!! I may have been there in '73...I remember there was a sign that said you could actually drink the water as it was so pure... #8362235

Laura E. Swan level-classic February 07, 2010

Hi Robert! Most of the water up here in the lakes is glacier water. :) From the Athabasca Ice Fields in Jasper or from their own glacier and snow sources. :D

How neat that you were likely here!

Thanks for the visit!
