The Wrong Day

Description

--------
It had been raining all night at Petit Jean State Park, but the intrepid photographer was determined to hike down to the Cedar Falls observation deck on the opposite side of the canyon. He had shot a few at this ledge, and was taking a look at the pathway down to the precarious cantilevered perch below. Alas, the slippery rock stairs were slick with "running" water. It was just too dangerous a venture to take any chances. Disappointed, but safe, he trudged back up, hoisted the camera and tripod onto his shoulder, and strode off to find a new adventure.
----------
Have been "away" for two days recovering from a disasterous computer crash.

Update on Computer crash: It was horrendous...had to wipe everything off and start from absolute empty hard drive. On phone for a solid day with Dell. Then went to recover my files...and they were all gone from my backup drive (or so I thought). Took another day of agony to uncover them with help of Seagate Recovery Guy. Still loading plugins, license keys, printer, scanner... It's been three days of intense "suffering." Whew! Out of the woods now except for a emails that were stored on my hard drive and not backed up.
This is about the 5th time I've gone through this. Don't think I could survive it again! I'm SERIOUS! #8341601

Wow how horrible Michelle, happen to me once and hopefully never again. I have an HP with a built-in external hard drive where I store everything, so if it crashes I'll still have me files, kewl capture by the way. #8341651

That computer thing must be like spring fever every body is getting it. I just got mine back. Like the comp here, Michelle, the lone camera and tripod stands out here in what appears to be an Ozark wilderness, well done as always. #8341730

Terrific shot with a story behind it -- it looks far too dangerous for me to try! The computer crash sounds absolutely awful -- you have my total sympathy and I'm glad it's (mostly) back now! #8341827
