BOLDLY GOLD

Uploaded: January 03, 2010

Description

I kind of got tired of all the red poinsettias of Christmas and set out to do something bold and gold. These look more like Halloween poinsettias but BOLD was the assignment, so here it is

Exif: F Number: 22, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 5/1 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 40.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 30D

Really cool Debbie! This is definitely a bold version of a poinsettia. I love the colors. My only suggestion would be an 8x10 crop, taking off a bit of the left side. #1222701

I've been playing around with a rather dull seed pod (and listening to the b-52's while at it) so....this is really bolder than the poinsettias, don't you think??? And it is even in an 8x10 for you guys!! No, you may not ask if I was smokin' some botanical while creating this BOLD BOTANICAL. #8267359

Not just BOLD but creative too! The last one has a rather psychedelic look to it and no I won't ask! #8267699

very original Deb, I like this image alot..I'm happy you decided to Boldly Gold where no man has gone before, but wait...wasnt' that splitting participles or conjugating expletives or something like that according to Peter?

I was thinking exactly what Jeff said about the crop.. #8267716

Jeff and Anthony - I decided not to crop any further on the left because I didn't think all my flowers edges should be pinned to the edge of the frame. I could more see cropping that same amount just to the right of the center of the back flower and re-creating some negative space on the left for the subject flower to breathe. #8278620
