The Wall. High walls, frequently covered with stucco, surround the patios of many homes in the Southwest. It is not unusual to have the adobe expanse broken with grilled openings and, where additional privacy is required, to have those openings completely covered as here. I love the combination of natural materials and textures -- not to mention the colors.
