Photo Contest Finalist
Description: Gulf Fritillaries are still making their way down to the Gulf of Mexico for migration and I'm still finding plenty in my Central TX garden. Since they are cold-blooded, when temps fall below 60 degrees, they need the sun to regulate their body temp and warm up their muscles so they are able to fly. This fellow was doing just that - taking advantage of a sunny morning, soaking up the rays and warming up for his flight of the day.
