Thanks, Jim! Well, at the end of summer we are going again to Gulf Shores, AL but staying in a condo on the beach. I love this place in the photo. It is not all ritzy and so forth, but it is really fun and special. And I will miss those sneaky alligators. One year the park ranger captured one in a cage in a nearby marshy inlet. We got to see all of this! The alligator was so heavy that its weight tilted the backhoe that was brought in to lift and move the cage(and relocate the gator). We skipped that one day of swimming in the lake...but just one. It is also fun to scare "new" guests who come to visit us there.... Just have to slyly whisper or yell "alligator" when they are in the water for the first time. Depends on the result you want. :-)

Thanks everyone!! I will invite all of you the next time I go, and we can all frolic in the lake together! I am not really that brave,you know, but for some reason I figure the alligators are not going to get anyone in the day. Too busy for one thing, and people really do not feed them ever..except for an occasional crab net left out all night. An attack has never happened there...or so they say....
You know what is really creepy--to swim under the piers! LOLOL
Just a note--I had ONLY boy kids, so I had to be able to handle such events; otherwise, they would have never let me forget it.

Thanks CJ and Darren. No, CJ they have not totally recovered. Some places are open etc. but not the park...fully. I love it there, too!!
I guess it is kind of living on the edge at that, Darren, but I have done it for so many years that I don't even think about it much.
