Terrific waterdrop image, Jeff. Great colors! #1205242Joan E. Hoffman November 15, 2009
This would look wonderful paired with Aimee's swirl!Excellent splash shot Jeff! Love the colours as well. This is one I would like to see the settings you used to shoot it! #8132768

Thank you ladies!Joan - This was shot with my 100mm macro lense. This was shot at 1/250 sec, f/16 and ISO 400. Light was provided by a couple of Canon 430 EX II speedlights. #8132874

Love the colors and the detail in the splash. Up at the top of the shot there are 2 to 3 arrow looking white areas, can these be removed? #8132883Dale Hardin November 15, 2009
Great lighting on this Jeff. I like the effect you created by using the slower speed. It adds a sense of movement. Also the use of the colored dish really added to the impact of the shot. How did you do the timing? Burst mode or trial and error? #8133106

Great job Jeff...I like how the front of the splash is frozen and all of the projected droplets show motion...would also like to know how you timed this.. #8133506Jeff E Jensen November 15, 2009
I actually manged to remember to take a set-up shot this time, so I will post it when I get around to dumping my images from that camera. If you've shot these, you know that quite a bit of the timing is pure luck. It takes a bit of time to get the setup dialed in, then it's a matter firing away. We were using strobes, so burst mode wasn't an option.
Dale - all of the color is a reflection off of the backdrop. The pan holding the water is black, allowing for a pretty good reflective surface. #8133536

this is another winner Jeff, I love the color as Joan said you and aimee must be on the same wave length with the colors. this is way cool agree the white arrow is a little distrastion. #8134196Susan M. Reynolds November 15, 2009
This is pretty cool! The little white arrow looking thingy has been addressed so I'll leave that alone...I'd have thought the bowl was that color not all reflection though...Someday, I will have to try some of the droplet photos. Looks like it could be interesting :) #8134431Christie R. Bielss November 16, 2009
Way cool Jeff! Love the action and to hear that the color is a reflection was such a suprise. Great job on this! #8136003Aimee C. Eisaman November 16, 2009
Love the colors....you nailed this one! The crispness of the waves along with the blurred water flying everywhere is just great! I can't think of anything I would change here. Look forward to seeing your setup image! :~) Always wanted to try this.....adding it to the long list of things I want to do with my camera! #8136126Debbie E. Payne November 16, 2009
Such a creative mind you have, Jeff. I just love it when you submit these kinds of shots for us to see! #8136645Jeff E Jensen November 17, 2009
