I shot this in shutter priority mode (1/1000 sec) as I wanted to freeze the action when the duck came out of the water and flapped its wings. Being that the duck raised itself up so straight I felt it was perfect for portrait opposed to landscape. Due to the light levels I also needed to raise the ISO to 400.

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/1000 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 400, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: NIKON D80
