GLORY BE!
Uploaded: October 19, 2009
---------
At the end of the summer, this plant started producing small, pale blue blooms, just as it had done on the windowsill in March before I transplanted it. In the interim, the flowers had been sparse, but large, and showy - magenta, with white centers.
---
The seeds had been a gift from a fellow BP-er.
-------
Mother Nature was surely having a nostalgic, romantic moment.

Such a delicate shining light in that surrounding darkness, Michelle! Such a sharp eye and soft touch you have. To me this resembles Ipomoea lindheimeri, the white throat being a giveaway. I have had little success with these in our harsh caliche soil but have had quite a degree of success with the Texas Cotton Morning Glory, Ipomoea cordatotriloba. They will grow where no others will. If I had your "mail to" I'd be happy to send you seed from this years crop, which is now in its second growth spurt following hard drought relieved by well timed rains. I also have some Ipomoea carnea, a bush morning glory with pink flowers. If you submit your request in a timely manner I will throw in a bonus of Osage Orange (Maclura pomifera) and some Antelope Horn Milkweed (Asclepias viridis). Don't miss out on the bonus!Becky J.
