Another beautiful photo where the colors and reflections are just gorgeous!! Well done, Debbie! #1188540Debbie E. Payne October 05, 2009
Sharon - I tried this one earlier this summer and it didn't even get an EP. I think it had something to do with the fact that I had made a "poster" out of this with the wording onto the right hand side of the water which said, "Colorado - The Place to Be This Summer". BP judges typically steer away from things framed and things with lettering. We will see how it fares this time. Thank you for looking. #8011520Anthony L. Mancuso October 12, 2009
This is a beauty Deb...I think we might see it again... #8030483Aimee C. Eisaman October 12, 2009
Had to have been the lettering because this is an amazing image! Congrats on your EP! :~) You are so lucky to be there every year! #8031101Debbie E. Payne October 13, 2009
I hope so, Anthony. This is one of my two favorite balloon pictures that I have gathered over the past several years. #8035082Kim Andelkovic October 14, 2009

Yes, Kim - That is the goal - to "touch-down" on the surface of the lake and then get back up in the air. It is amazing to watch. I don't have any really good pics of the touch-down itself but it is fun to see them sit on the surface of the water and then lift up. I might have a photo of what lifting off from the water looks like. It's not a great image but it shows what happens and it's awesome to see. #8037980Kim Andelkovic October 14, 2009
I just did a hot air balloon ride and it was nothing like that....lol I would have loved that.....our balloons were very dull in colour as well....where was this taken? #8038002Debbie E. Payne October 14, 2009
Although this is a fairly small Balloon Fest, it is noted being interactive and very friendly. Operators let the crowd get close and even let kids stand inside the baskets while they are still tethered. I couldn't find my picture of the lift-off off the water but here are a couple of pretty good "touch-downs". I live in Colorado Springs and this is the only balloon festival I've ever been to but each year there is something new to focus upon! #8038030Jeff E Jensen October 14, 2009
I love this shot Debbie, congrats on the EP! #8038062Aimee C. Eisaman October 14, 2009
Debbie you call those bad shots! I love that one with them at all different levels...the race to the....forgot what it was called, but it's an awesome image! :~) #8038073Kim Andelkovic October 14, 2009
Debbie these are all totally awesome pics.....I would love to be in one of them.....the baskets are so small. The one with the race to touch down I would just clone out the one just above the main one and enter it cause I reckon its a winner. Beautiful work, colours, POV.....WTG Debbie. #8038090Erica Murphy October 17, 2009
