Dinky Station -- Princeton, NJ
Uploaded: September 18, 2009
---------
The Dinky line is a short branch of the Northeast Corridor Line, running from the main station at Princeton Junction to Princeton with no intermediate stops. Its station is conveniently located on the Princeton University campus.
------------
The Dinky (term for a small locomotive) Branch opened on May 29, 1865, using a Grice & Long steam dummy for passenger service.

Had to clean up wires and an overflowing trash bin, so, while I was at it, I overlaid a dappled sky over the dull gray Labor Day sky, and applied a dose of the new TOPAZ product, "Detail." That made the pavement appear wet, though the rain had not yet begun.

Had to delete the entry...somehow there were two of these in my gallery, and the wrong one was collecting comments.

Michelle- What a quant and lovely little station. I really enjoyed reading the story behind it and the cleanup work you did is gorgeous. Excellent composition and I love the lighting for an overcast day. The benches, the stonework of the station house, even the part of the bike are all gorgeous little things that add to its charm. The sky is awesome.ALLEN O. HOWARD September 18, 2009

FANTASTIC image, Michelle. Soo well composed. I LOVE the treatment. Very beautiful work. #7955096Mitch Spence September 19, 2009
I was just immediately drawn to this thumbnail, Michelle. The tonal qualities certainly (and love your sky addition), and I'm sure the use of the detail filter added to my appreciation of, well, details. :) Nice filter, that, isn't it? But it reamins the composition that is the super-est of all. #7955981A P September 19, 2009
I looked at that sky and knew you must have put it there LOL To picture perfect!! LOL This reminds me of so many stations back east. I just love it. But we have to do so much work cleaning this, removing that to make them the capture that way. But it's so worth it in the end, huh? Awesome Michelle. #7956146Joseph N. DiGilio September 21, 2009
Lovely composition Michelle & your editing, outstanding as always. So that's where the term dinky comes from. Lots of our terms have their roots in rail road lingo. #7964980Michael Lynch September 21, 2009
