Okay, guys....do the highlighted areas that turned silver when I did the textures work or not work. For some reason I like them because they are almost silver and complement the gold. But usually in images, larger whitish areas don't work. I'd love to hear from you on this. #1172931

Debbie not only do I like it a really like it...adds just the right amount of contrast. I have been missing so many great images from you and everyone...I have been sooooooo busy. Family visits and school...just now things seem to be calming down. #7890632

I really like this. I too think they compliment each other. Great texture. #7890894

I think it works fine as you have it. Nice texture and good colors. The silver areas look like they might be frozen spots or frost so they compliment the fall colors nicely and look very natural. #7890928

Melissa - I'm glad things are calming down for you. Do you have any plans for September photo trips? Martin and I are going on the Fall Photo Train (the Rio Grande with the domed cars) from Alamosa up to LaVeta Pass and back in late September. Should be fun.

And my Phellos - thank you for the encouragement. You never know when you have almost blown out highlights in something. I was amazed that they turned silver. It was serendipity - I probably won't ever be able to duplicate this !! I'm like a cook that doesn't write down recipes.

Good morning Debbie...yes I do have a fall trip planned. Hubby and I are driving to Sequoia and King's Canyon in CA. #7892439

Debbie E. Payne August 27, 2009

Thank you, Rita. Textures are lots of fun to work with. Quite addicting, actually!

Meliss - Good for you. I have always wanted to get back to that part of the country. My husband and I spent the first summer we were married touring up and down the CA and Oregon coast. #7892680

Great work with the textures here Deb, you blended them perfectly in the image, I must say that I am not crazy about the silver areas, I feel the largest one draws too much attention away from the leaf. I think if they had just a hint of the amber tones of the rest of the image in them they would not be as distracting, but judging from the rest of the coments, this is obviously the minority opinion! #7892938

Debbie E. Payne August 27, 2009

I was waiting for someone to say that, Tony. I may play with it but I like it the way it is. #7893792

Christie R. Bielss August 27, 2009

This is a beautiful image, Debbie! I'm with Tony on the silver - it's just a bit too bright for me and keeps pulling me away from the leaf. Really like what all you've done with this. #7893962

Teresa H. Hunt August 27, 2009

I'm with Tony and Christie on the silver, it's a bit to bright. I'd also erase the texture off the stem of the leaf a bit. But that could just be me. Otherwise I love this photo. I'm a fall/winter person myself. So I'm ready for the leaves to change. :) #7894575
