Mature Lotus Blossom

This photo was taken early morning at Kenilworth Gardens in Washington, DC. As the lotus blossom matures the showerhead shaped seed pod develops inside and eventually the petals fall away. (Taken with a Canon 28-135mm IS lens with polarizer on tripod. Processed using Photoshop CS3.)
