Up the Side
Uploaded: August 06, 2009
These are side stairs at the magnificent capitol building in Des Moines. They do have a lovely warm look but I helped that out with my white balance setting when I converted from RAW.

Wonderful find and capture, Nikki! I really like the way you composed this--instead of shooting straight down, the way so many staircase photos are. This comp shows the wonderful details of the wooden posts (I'm sure there's a proper word for them!), and yet still leads the eye to the right and down the stairs. #7828210Karen Celella August 08, 2009
