Mother Skimmer and Baby

Uploaded: August 03, 2009

Description

These baby skimmers were so adorable. There were hundreds and hundreds of the adults and babies at the beach area in a roped off area. Taken at Redington Beach in Florida. They are protected birds. The roped off area is from April 1st until August 31st. No one is allowed to go in that area. I've been watching the babies grow up. I couldn't believe how tiny they were at first. I went back not long ago and most of them are as big as the parents.

HI KAY
ADORABLE LIL BABY...i had such fun viewing your gallery. I learned what a skimmer is. I was at the beach here in Pompano and photographed a gigantic flock of these guys last week. They are not easy since the face is black and so is the eye. Thank you for sharing. BLESSINGS #8338165
