Good morning and many thanks Thomas.
Having just got back from a month in Cornwall I am putting off sorting all the images from back there by making a few more here! As a chronic procrastinator I have my little strategies for easing my guilt and what better than telling myself I am too busy making new ones to deal with all that 'yesterday stuff'!
My computer has been playing up but I think I have sorted the problem so I need to get back to critiquing other folks work and trying to learn something from their efforts. I am sure I am not alone in sometimes wondering why I make certin images other than "when you have a camera in your hand you might as well use it'! In the old days when a roll of 24 Kodak produced perhaps one keeper it at least made us think before pressing the button.

I love the contrast of vibrant colors between the butterfly and the yellow petals with the muted green in the BG. Nice DOF and the composition works well for me too. You ought to enter this in the monthly contest! #7813940

Thank you so much ladies! To be able to sit in our yard and just soak up the beauty of our flowers and trees, the humming birds and cardinals the monarchs and these dark blues(no idea what species this is) makes me realise just how blessed I am. Even the cold, 'el cheapo' chardonnay in my glass takes on a magical quality. I feel truly blessed!
Have a wonderful day and look only for what is good in life!

Sounds like a beautiful place and the right attitude!
Some of us might not have it "right in our backyard" but certainly have something near to appreciate!
Thanks Pete for encouraging words to start the day!
Have a great day too!

Great photo! Congrats on the EP! I was going to say it looks a hint overexposed in places but since no one has said anything I guess it's my laptop. I have the hardest time getting it in the right position.
Yeah you're so right Peter, that digital doesn't make us think as hard to snap the button. #7864058

Hey, thanks Meghan. Interesting that you should think I had over-exposed this image. I thought I had got it about right with the whites being white and the blacks being completely black. Hope they appear this way on your screen.

Sorry I should have clairfied better, I meant the background, yellow, appears overexposed on my screen (and my dad's computer). The butterfly is excellently exposed though like you said the blacks vs the whites--must have been hard! #7872955
