Trees on Halloween Description: Nikon 17-35, at 17; f/8; ISO200; S1/2000. I love barren trees in the winter--this was taken this past spring in Atlanta--and I was experimenting here. As I didn't have a tripod with me, I jacked the shutter speed up to 1/2000 because I wanted the trees to be really, really sharp. Though mid to late afternoon, the sun is actually still quite high here. The in the original photograph the sky is a deep blue; here I made it orange because the way the trees bend owing to the forced perspective and the lens distortion reminds me of goblins and Halloween.
