Simply Stunning! Beautiful exposure, coloring and comp. Is this on the Beartooth Highway, US 212, one of the most dramatic and breathtaking routes into Yellowstone? I read it was a rugged yet beautiful drive...I'm thinking I would be terrified if it is a twisty mountain road with canyons 1000's of feet deep...long story behind that one...But it sure is beautiful! #1152423

Good morning Barbara. Very National Geographic! What a beautifully shot image. So now we have another place I must go see, but for the moment I will have to satisfy myself with Googling it I guess. Thanks for sharing. Pete #7727049

Wow! thank you so much for the wonderful comments!
Yes this is on hwy 212 and yes I believe it is the most dramatic and breathtaking sights. It is my FAVORITE place! I love this mountain and have been over it many times. Always an awe inspiring trip. Neat the top (almost 11,000 FT!!!!!) it can get a bit nervy, but it is so beautiful you forget about that! The Montana side starts in Red Lodge and goes up over the mountain and you can go west to Yellowstone or East through Cheif Joseph Scenic Hwy onto the Big Horn Mtns (which is the way I go!) and then I continue on to SD and the Badlands!
I look forward to sharing more photos! I also took some of the sunrise (because of the Masterpiece assignment) shots on the Maine Coast!
Thank you again for your comments. They are greatly appreciated.
