This beautiful little wren raised his family in this oversized bluebird house (in which a bluebird has never settled) in the backyard. When the background turned out almost black, in this late afternoon shot, it was a bonus! Used a dose of Topaz Adjust to bring out the rustic look.

Michelle, I'm glad SOMEBODY used the birdhouse for their family! This little cutie looks even tinier compared to the house, especially with the dark background almost swallowing him up.
The effect seems to give the wooden texture a bit of a metallic glint ~ another bonus, because the house seems nearly 3-D in this. #7724108

He looks so little. They make nests in the darndest places..I have some of those decorative balls made out of willow branches, I think hanging on the porch...so they pick the smallest one and put a nest in it. They can barely get in there and I don't know how they will fit when the babies get big. #7724232

Sweet little house wren! (I had one make a nest in a gardening apron pocket I left outside!) The b/g is a real bonus here, bringing out the definition and textures of the wren and the bird house wonderfully. Tough capture in that low light but you did a beautiful job! Well done! #7725524
