Lisa, Joline & Ronald - Thank you very much! Your comments are most appreciated!

Lisa, I do not know the name of the flower. This was the first time I had seen this particular variety on our property where we camp. Last year, we didn't go up there until sometime in May, so maybe I missed it. There are all kinds of flowers that will bloom until it gets too hot (June). Lots of purples (my favorite color), yellows and some reds. I have several that I want to identify so I hope I'll find out what this pink one is!

Thank you again, everyone, for the positive feedback. This website is terrific! LOTS of wonderful images to appreciate and inspire, along with a wealth of information for getting the most out of your photography. #1298852

What a beautiful flower, simple but so nicely presented. I like the shadow. Coongratulations on your win, Lisa! #1897703

Thank you, Luhut! I appreciate your kind words so much.

The shadow you see is actually another plant that was nearby. I was using a 12mm tube extension on my zoom lens to allow me to focus in closer to the subject. The depth of field becomes very shallow when I use the extension tube on my long zoom, so it does some interesting things to the surroundings.

Thanks again!
