Scott, I love your picture. If I may ask, could you explain the technique you used? Is it a filter in Photoshop? I have Photoshop Elements and was wondering if one of the filters in Elements creates this background. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. #56877

PS7 is amazing. That's why it costs 600 bucks. I do like the submission, Scott, but the flower girl's bow needs to be restored to original in my mind. Keeping all the distortion possible from her outfit seems logical. #56880

Patricia, I don't know if Photoshop Elements has layers. If it does you can do this. I created a second copy of the picture and applied a Radial Blur effect then took the blurred copy and laid it over the original. I then erased portions of the layer where I want the detail to show through. I used the stamp tool to fix any place that I erased too much. It took about an hour to create. #56954

This is great, Scott. I too am new to learn all that Photoshop has. My entry today was a picture of importance but at was not acceptable for display so I did some alterations... I never thought to put my original image in for contras example. You are very helpful. #57129

Thanks for all your responses. I noticed that I forgot to respond to you, Lem. I to thought the bow might tie in nicely with its alignment with the arm, but when I tried it, it just took away from the picture. A big part of the alure is the way she is tied into the background. if the bow is sharp there is not enough distortion on the remaining part of the dress to tie her in.

Thanks for the suggestion though Lem. Keep them coming. By the way, after seeing the extra power and control I have, Photoshop is worth every penny of that $600.

For those that cannot afford to expend such an amount, Photoshop elements is a kick rear program for about 100. There are other good software buys for photo manipulation out there too. #57669

Congratulations on all your finalists, Scott! I really admire your PS skills in this one and the cheerleader shot. I love PS7 too though I have SO much to learn! BTW, I want to point out to Lem that if one buys an older version of Photoshop...you can upgrade to PS7 for $150. That's the better deal IMO.
