Cannon 10-22,16mm, ½ sec., f/18, ISO 400, 0 EV, flash did not fire, used mirror lockup, remote switch and hot shoe bubble level.

This image did not turn out as I had initially envisioned when I set up my camera. This was captured at sunset, with the sun setting just to the right of the center of the image, near the middle of the river. I anticipated that the sun would shine thru an opening in the clouds on the horizon and light up the bottom of the clouds, which would be reflected in the river’s surface. Instead, just before sunset the clouds closed in and the sun disappeared. My vision for this image then changed to a black and white image due to the patterns in the grass, the clouds, and the reflection of the clouds in the water. The camera was just over 2 ft. from the grass, so I manually set the focus for just over 3 feet and waited for the breeze to stop momentarily.

Once my images were on my computer, I converted this image to black and white in Lightroom.
