What a great place for a bike ride and photo too! I remember from your gallery the other photos of you and Ron looked like the same place...I pray God comforts your heart each day.Barbara E. Gould June 05, 2009
Yes, we visited this place many times. And I have gone back a few times since his death, but in a car :( ....Susan M. Reynolds June 05, 2009
It would be hard to go back on a bike...Barbara E. Gould June 05, 2009
I've driven twice since. I dont have a bike yet, but I will try. It was such a big part of my life growing up and with him. It's a wonderful way to travel.john forrant June 05, 2009

I was once told by a nursing instructor that death comes because God's purpose for that person was fulfilled and he was ready to take them home. Even when the purpose is not clear to us, it comforts me to know that a lost loved one touched this world in some way and it was satisfying to God. How powerful that our loved ones, even those we lose too early, have done such deeds in this crazy world. I don't know if this helps or not, but I've always found it to be comforting. #7601766Sonya L. Hatfield-Hall June 06, 2009
Barb and Susan,I don’t know the circumstances surrounding your great losses, but the love for Ron and Will are written in your words and read between the lines. Every time you press the shutter release and capture that special moment, their finger is on top of yours guiding you to press, not a fraction of a second too early or too late.
Every time I step into the kitchen to fry chicken, my grandmother is with me with every piece I roll in flour and place in the hot oil to every bite I take. She taught me how to cook. She died unexpectedly when I was nine. In December, I’ll be 50.
With every nail I drive or seed I plant, I feel my grandfather guiding me. He’s there letting me know the right time to plant even without knowing the signs. He taught me how to garden.
No longer do I ride horses, but the first time I showed my horse after my godfather’s death, I could feel him astride the horse with me. He taught me how to ride.
It is these thoughts and feelings that help me through daily life. Those gone are always in your heart and memories and only a prayer away. Take your arms, wrap them around yourself and give yourself a hug, no they are not physically there, but you can feel them.
I am a great fan of NASCAR and one of the most profound statements about the loss of a loved one came from Richard Petty when his grandson Adam was killed during practice. I carry it with me always as we all tend to ask, “Why?” When Richard was asked about Adam, he replied, “You can’t put a question mark where God has put a period.”
I believe in what Geri said about once a person has fulfilled their mission on earth, they go home. Take comfort in this knowledge as it make you a stronger person more aware of what impact your actions, words, photographs have on the world around you.
Blessings, Peace, and Prayers,
Sonya

Wow Sonya. I did not know I was going to see such great photography and get such great philosophy too. yes, Our loved ones are with us for all times. We honor them by living life to our fullist potential. I love that quote from Richard Petty. #7602755Sonya L. Hatfield-Hall June 06, 2009
