Lots of nice color on his body. I like him better than spiders. Rita, I see you have a d300 also. How do you like it? What lense did you take this one with? #8784701

janet thanks for commenting I too like him better than spiders!!
I love my D300 I have had it for 2 years now, and still don't know everything it can do. I took this with my 2.8 to 200 VR nikon lens. I mainly shoot raw but I find that the D300 gives me great jeg also. I do find it a little heavy sometimes it really helped me get in the habit of using a tripod...this picture was taken hand held. #8784739

I've had mine almost two years also. Nice lens. I don't have anything macro but am getting interested in that since moving here, Kissimmee, the critter capitol of the US, I'm sure. I am not getting the sharpness I want out of most things, so am trying to convince myself to use the tripod as well, but I don't like lugging it or setting it up. I'm more apt to grab the bag and just go. You guys are inspiring me to do better things, and I think that means the tripod. I just started shooting raw and can't believe I waited so long to try it. Awesome! #8784758

He did listen Rita no splat picture? great capture. Arthur a good way to make the insect hold still is to refridgerate them for a couple of seconds, it slow down their metabolism and doesn't cause any lasting damage, ( just don't freeze them.
