Thriving ...... indeed !!

This is dedicated to BetterPhotos 13 years of flourishing growth. This image was captured from beneath the tree at night using camera flash. The tree was harboring hundreds of finches which were resting. These show a community behavior in that each one flies away on the first hint of sunrise and comes back just before dark, this happens every single day!
My interpretation of the shot is as follows:
The tree (BP site) is what Jim Miotke planted 13 years ago; the main trunk is the BP team (not seen here, which is usually the case anyways), the branches depict the actual space/benefits allotted to each BP member (some birds sitting on large branches than others), the finches (us the members - some sitting together, some a few branches away), most all finches do their daily chores and try to come back and sit at this tree (BP site) every day and chirp together and learn from each other.
Kudos to BP and good luck all with shooting that elusive Grand Prize photo!!

What an absolutely fantastic and interesting capture. When you first see the mini pic you don't notice all the little finches. Excellent tribute to BP. #1091220Usman M. Bajwa March 02, 2009

This is SOOOO wonderful, Usman! First, for the amazing capture! I have always wondered what it would look like if you could see all the birds in the trees at night--and you've shown it to me! Wow!! And second, the photo is fantastic for the MT, as you've illustrated such wonderful ideas about what BP means to all of us. Outstanding work!! #7259924Laura E. Swan March 09, 2009
