Description

Took a couple of rainbow shots lately and I wanted to see if I could replicate one.

Burned and darkened a SP of me in the sunlight with my arms held out. Converted to B/W and repositioned the hands to be a little bit closer and give the effect that they are stretched out further than they are.

Took the pen tool and outlined the first color of the rainbow. With a generous feather I painted the selection Red. Repeated with Orange, yellow, Green and Blue. Copied layer and pasted rainbow on a seperate layer. Using free transform I flipped the rainbow and repositioned it on my right eye. Spherized the rainbow to better match my eye. Repeated with left eye. Reduced opacity and added brilliance so it was transparent yet vibrant. Viola

Every month, with our camera in hand, we go out and find what we hope will be the “winning photo.”
Those of us that don’t get recognized, just continue to search for that special image, until one day the Congratulations come pouring in from some of the best artist and friends anyone could image.
So to the Better Photo winners for the month of September, I congratulate you on a job so well done.
My very best to all of you, Merna Nobile
