Description

Cheese sharing in Switzerland
In summer, the farmers from the valley send their cows up to the mountain pastures where they are looked-after by Alpine dairymen. The milk from these cows is turned into Alpine cheese which, in autumn when the cows are back in the valley, is shared by the farmers. Pictured here are farmers removing the huge wheels cheese from the storage hut and stacking them for distribution.
