The Day the Clouds Fell

Uploaded: March 22, 2005 01:07:41

Description

An unusual view of the Valdez Bay. An extremely dense 200 ft. deep layer of ground fog covered the entire bay. From a vantage point above the fog it looked like you were flying above the clouds and seeing the tops of extremely high mountains. At water level, you couldn't tell it was sunshining and you could hardly see 20 ft in front of you.

Thanks Roger. It was a very impressive scene. One that I may never see again, at least not to the same extent or under the same lighting conditions. #1196877

Fantastic scenery Gary and I am so pleased you were able to capture this photographic opportunity, as I doubt it will be repeated again (as you mentioned).

Thank you, Donna and Sanjay, but you both must have an inside track or there is some confusion because I haven't received a notice that this photo is a finalist and it doesn't have a finalist icon next to it. I certainly hope your right though ;-) #1269394

Donna Roberts April 21, 2005

Well another Donna thinks that this *is* a finalist and in my eyes it always was.
Loved this when I originally saw this Gary and I still love it now.
