Description

I think this Kookaburra is getting very comfortable in front of the camera. I was aiming at another one when he posed for this close-up. Lens apertureF/3.7, shutter speed 1/776sec, focal length 63mm.

Thanks a lot. It's amazing how tame they can get. I have to watch for him as he lands on me & frightens me, but I don't want to frighten him. You should see him swimming in the pool. #7130680

And -I- thought it was an EAGLE! Ha!

What fun to have a bird that is so comfortable around you. He lands on you and swims on your pool? Teach him to use the BBQ and put him to work!!! Enough lounging already! HA!

Really great photography, Chris! -Laura :)

STAY COOL!!! #7177617

Our gutters get full of leaves & the Kookaburra gets up there digging around in it & throwing it out, all over the front steps. Saves Tony climbing the ladder to do it, you know we are trying to avoid that!! I'm so pleased you all like him, thanks a lot. #7177637

Mary K. Robison February 18, 2009

I barely got a glimpse of a kookaburra when I was in your country. It is a treat to see one close close-up and to read your narrative. Great detail and colors. #9657364

Thanks Phyllis, there's a lot around where I live but not a lot in the cities. Where did you go? #9929901
