Description

In honor of this most historic Inauguration Day, I am presenting this photo taken at a recent Civil War reenactment. This gentleman is portraying Frederick Douglass, who in 1872 became the very first African American nominated by the Equal Rights Party as a Vice Presidential candidate along with with Victoria Woodhull, the first woman nominated to run for President of the United States. Douglass was a firm believer in the equality of all people. He said, "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong."

Deb- A powerful and incredible portrait with an even more powerful message. A wonderful dedication to honor this day. Your work here brings out all the character of this gentleman. I love the grey of his hair and beard which is a sign of wisdom and the eyes that seem to peer deep into the hearts of man. I am a big fan of close up shots like this that always bring out the person behind the picture.
Beautifully done, amazing capture, heartfelt dedication.
Have yourself a marvelous day, enjoy this historic moment.
