This is marvelous, Terry. How did you acheive that perfectly black background? I'm always cloning and painting to try and get that effect. #21655

Thanks Lem...actually I think I took this one against a green backgound!
Generally I do take it against a black posterboard background. I usually get the blackness by not shining any light in that direction and then by adjusting in photoshop. I Use the individual channels and add black to the black channel. Does that make sense? I can do it but I can't explain it! #50123

Yes it makes sense. Thanks. And your right about PS. I learn something new everyday, but I couldn't tell anyone what I've learned or how to do it. #50132

Interesting composition. One doesn't always need to see all of it for it to be beautiful! I agree, Photoshop is an amazing picture program. Luckily if you haven't altered too many times, you can always see it in the "history". #50139

Beautiful work, Terry.

Gorgeous, Terry! I love it! Thank you for sharing your technique! Just one more question - what kind of lighting did you use for this one?

Cathy :) #50280

Terry Gee May 26, 2019

Thanks Mette, Judy and Cathy.
Cathy, I use the same lighting for all my 'studio' work- 2 100watt flood lights. The clip-on ones from Home Depot(about $7. each). I usually mount one and hand hold the other. #50328

That's just too cool, Terry! It's perfect lighting! Thank you for sharing!
