White Protea
Uploaded: January 03, 2009
This protea was photographed in Kula on the island of Maui in either the Enchanted Gardens (8 acres) or the Kula Botanical Gardens (6 acres). Both are at an elevation of 2500 feet on the slopes of the Haleakala crater.
I had been sick with bronchitis for most of my trip so the last day I hit both gardens in lightning speed taking over 150 photos. So, I'm sorry at this time I can't remember which garden this flower was in. If you ever have the chance to visit Maui check out both gardens, they are inexpensive to tour and beautiful.

LOL, Ann !!! Geat minds think alike, fools seldom differ :) I checked out your post and there's just a rose between us... at least we're not side-by-side. I had just the single flower and spent quite awhile darkening the background to remove branches & twigs. I thought it was too busy otherwise. Thank you for your lovely comments, Ann ... yours is beautiful too. #6979164Dominick M. Dimacale January 04, 2009

Lovely detail in this image of a gorgeous flower. I like the dark BG you achieve in several of your images--they make the flowers pop out at the viewer. #7478550Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
