Skating Under the Arches

Description

This is the skating rink in Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square (the City Hall square). Its large surface is well maintained and very popular with everyone from downtown office workers stopping by to rent skates and have a few turns on the ice after work to parents with small children making their first try at staying upright on the ice. The rink is especially busy during the holiday season when the whole square is beautifully lit and decorated. I used a couple of "artistic" filters on this image in post processing in PS CS3. Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR.
