Description

For the 101 'Red' theme ~ Sidmouth, Devon .. added a light selective sunset filter to enhance the colours as the bright sun washed them out a bit ~ the little girl just happened to step into view as I was about to take the picture :)

Exif: F Number: 9, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 10/1600 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 27.70 mm, Model: DMC-FZ50

Hi Susie! Well thank you for setting me off on another nostalgia trip! These same red cliffs just a few miles further west along the coast would have me standing with my head out of the train window getting my first smell of wonderful sea air. Those same red sandstone cliffs at Dawlish, the sea, right beside the tracks perhaps more often more grey than blue but it meant I was going home to Cornwall from college in London. Wonderful memories of the steam locomotives that hauled the trains (Hey, we are talking 1955 here!) and what did it matter that one got the occasional bit of soot in the eyes as the train wended its way through all the little tunnels in those red cliffs -I was less than a hundred miles from home.
Thank you so much Susie for giving both photographic and geographic information, it adds so much more to your images when we are told how and where.
