Great self portrait. A young looking 70 if you ask me.

You can smile...

You are so kind Melissa. In fact all you ladies have been so kind.
I had not previously heard of Schneerson but I like and am encouraged by what he wrote!

And as Wordsworth wrote-
" The wiser mind
Mourns less for what age takes away
Than what it left behind".

Hi Pete! nice portrait and great twinkle in your eyes... I can see your sense of humor in this portrait, and to me that is the single greatest quality to have....keeps you young. Now to be a spoilsport....I wish it weren't so grainy!!!!! Happy Birthday dear friend ;) #6984927

Nancy,Joan and Amy- thank you my friends, you are all so kind!
I had colon cancer twice, in 1997 and '98 and feel greatly blessed that I am vertical to the grass, cancer free and enjoy every day that the Lord gives me. I have everything to smile about and make it my mission in life to share that smile and make other folk smile, even in these difficult economic times. Having the advantage of my Brit accent I have only to do my Sean Connery impersonation in the supermarket. I complain to no-one in particular in the aisles that we are all being ripped off by manufacturers halving the contents of a packet but still increasing the prices and my solution would be to bring back the Queen to rule the country, make me Governor in charge and I would get rid of all the corruption by sending all those crooked CEOs and politicians as convicts to Australia as we did 200 years ago! Folk laugh!
And Joan, you are not being a spoil-sport, my image is very grainy. I shot this at 800 ISO,f11 at 1/30sec as I was in a dark corner of my den area late in the afternoon with just a small amount of daylight. I used the on-camera fill flash but when it comes down to it I have no idea what I am doing most of the time but I do have fun. lol
Warm regards, Pete
