Great job, I knew this group would do the challenge justice - great idea and execution! I have tried this technique in the past, without good results - again, good job! #6950943

I love the total effect of this shot, it's not just part of the way, I feel like I am taking off in space mountain or something with the way the lines are placed. AWESOME! #6968402

Here are the specs of the image.

Canon 40D
Shutter 1/8 sec
Exposure Manual
F-Stop f/5.6
ISO 1600

Shot with my 50mm f/1.8 on a tripod

Basically I was bored one day before Christmas and decided to try to get some pictures of the lights on the tree. After that was not really all the great I decided to make shapes with making my lens out of focus.

In CS3 I have a action that takes your image and makes swirls out of it. Have done this before with a few firework pictures. I did not really use the action much just made it to where it looks like out of space. Which was my very first impression of this image.

Gives you a Star Trek feeling to it. Or it does to me. Thank you for all the wonderful comments. I am sorry I did not get back in time, I am not on here that much but try to be more often. #7068046
