Mast General Store

Description

Mast General Store is located in the rural historic district of Valle Crucis. Established in 1883, they have been outfitting the Appalachians with traditional mercantile goods, clothing, footwear and outdoor gear. You can still purchase winter gear and clothing there, but my favorite room is the one filled with old fashioned candies!

What a great looking composition and so well presented. I love the orange roof and the bit of reflection you were able to capture on the wet driveway. #1151739

This is wonderful, Paula!
It makes me think of my Grandmother's General Store. It was torn down about 12 years ago. :( #1151765

I notice that you live in Florida and must have been here on vacation. I have been to that store often. I am lucky enough to be able to shoot a lot of old buildings that are still standing such as barns , churches, and general stores or what use to be general stores. My question is what did you do to the shot to bring out such color and did you enhance it a lot with a photo program? I use film and love it however , I am trying to find my " style" so to speak. I take photos and they aren't many that are 'wow" looking.
Thank you for your time. Love this shot..

Hi Paul...I'm glad you like it. Please email me and I'll send you the specifics. I used Paint Shop Pro on this, which is a JASC product. There are several steps involved, which I will be happy to share. #2507141
