Thank you guys, Leanne, Cathy, Arya and Bill. These little guys - which are actually a weed - grow here all year round. As a kid we called them 'rabbit food' and ate them. They have a real tangy taste and fortunately are not poison. #1150061

Nobu Nagase March 05, 2005

Beautiful trio!!!
Wonderful colors, details, and comp! #1150185

Laurence Saliba level-classic March 05, 2005

WOW so nice!!! We have like these Marsha here but they are yellow!! The pink ones like those are kept only by a few people (my mother has some actually) but they are not in bloom yet. The wild yellow ones are very very common!! #1150208

Kara L. Hendricks March 05, 2005

Wow!! These almost look 3D when you first look at them. GORGEOUS!! #1150247

Marsha S. Smith March 05, 2005

Thank you Nobi, Laurence and Kara. I really appreciate you guys.
Laurence - we have some yellow ones here also, but the flowers are much smaller and are not in bloom right now. Both are considered weeds here and are almost impossible to get rid of so I don't even try. I just take their pictures. #1150310

Terry R. Hatfield March 05, 2005

Cathy, I live in SE Texas - 90 miles east of Houston - and just inside the state line about 18 miles from Louisiana. I know you are southern too, because sometimes you use ya'll and you use it correctly - where are you from? #1150534

DiAnna F. Paulk March 08, 2005

Marsha, this is one of my favorite in your gallery! The colors are beautiful and the composition is very strong. I love wood sorrel -- it use to bloom around the home in which I grew up. I didn't know what it was called, but it always makes me think of "home." #1157416

Marsha S. Smith March 08, 2005

DiAnna, I have 2 huge clumps of this stuff that a neighbor gave me. I thought it was the same thing as the wild "rabbit food" I grew up with. But I compared the flowers today and they are a little different. There is also a yellow version. I have shots of all three and will put them into the discussion so you can see. Thank you so much for your comments. #1157581

Marsha S. Smith March 08, 2005

DiAnna, here are the other two sorrels. They are both wild and grow all over here. #1157622

Marsha S. Smith March 08, 2005
