Horseshoe Lake Panorama IV
Uploaded: December 10, 2008
This is an 11 shot panorama (each lens flare is a shot) overlooking Horseshoe Lake with Mount Stuart to the left of center, located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area within Washington State. Captured with the sun setting to the west in mid-October with the larch above 6,000 feet all aglow in gold, a little over 2 1/2 miles from Lake Stuart. (Note: Lake Stuart is 5 miles in from the trailhead, and the trail beyond Lake Stuart is not maintained, nor on the map.) Photographed with a vertically handheld DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera set at ISO 400 and f/8 using a wide-angle zoom lens (12 to 24). To bring out the shadow detail the LDR (Low Dynamic Range) image was converted to a HDR (High Dynamic Range) image. Entered into the “Nature & Landscapes” category and shared with the BetterPhoto Club: “Photographing the Northwest -- Hiking Club.”
