Great image; I remember card's like this. I even have a few that were sent to my Mom when she was a girl and she's now 75! Great job, Steve!!! #1134948

I as well, cute shot Steve! #1135077

Marsha S. Smith February 26, 2005

Steve, I think I like this better than any of the other "love" shots this month. Every one of us (past a certain age that is) remembers Valentine's Day at school when we all traded these. And back then everyone got cards from everyone so no one got hurt. I was born in 1952 so I guess I was in grade school in the 60's. #1135157

Wow Steve this is wonderful!!
You captured a very nice souvenir of antique images and St. Valentine's cards...shoes boxes are useful for loads of things, the most common is keeping little things on for ages! #1135234

"Love" has many connections & "memories" is one of them. Whether they are stored in our hearts or in a shoebox, "Love" will always be there in any form, shape, or size.
Wonderful concept & presentation, Steve. Excellent shot, too! #1135240

Love the color, clarity and composition Steve. Also the choice of subject matter is... well, choice! (smile)

Thanks to all who took a look and enjoyed these old Valentine cards.

Marsha, you remended me that YES, we were taught a lesson in fairness with the Valentine exchange, but I remember being quite selective as to who got which Valentine. My favorite part was decorating the shoe boxes we used as our "mail box" Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone! #1135712

Brilliant image Steve!!!! Nice colours too!!! #1135884

Steve Mescha February 26, 2005

Thanks Debra and Lawrence. You know, I didn't mention this, but it's actually 2 photos. First I layed a bunch of the cards on the table and shot them, but then it occured to me that the real story was the shoe box, so I shot again and layered them in photoshop. #1135921

Judy S. Fung February 27, 2005

Terrific image, Steve! Very cute! It does bring back memories. I was selective about who got which valentine card too. :) #1136486

Steve, this is the best. Really well done and your inclusion of the box is right on.
And does this photo ever bring back memories! Were these yours? Did you find them? I would like to know the story behind these Valentines. I too remember decorating the boxes and giving/receiving cards to/from everyone. I know my mama made sure that we had cards for everybody. Now, sometimes a certain boy in the class might give his BEST one to a certain little girl and vice versa, but there was none of this leaving anyone out stuff.
