Family Collage

Uploaded: November 22, 2008

Description

Selected images, numbered and named layers, resized each image,(not easy) color corrections of images, (color balance, levels, curves, threshold adjustment levels, ). Grouped layers to keep certain images together. Used numerous tools; cloned, patched, erased, magic erased, fixed glare, etc.-made numerous selections, used masks, learned many things e.g. you can't change color of one image in a collage unless you select it first. (the whole collage changes color otherwise). Used numerous other techniques; rulers, free transform (for sizing). Learned that if I didn't clearly label a layer, I would never find it; used tricks to find layers that I lost ("hid" layers one by one, until the one I was looking for disappeared. I also played with feathering and refine edge in order to meld certain images into each other, plus in some instances I used layer styles (for no real reason other than fun); used a couple of "vignettes", and one blended (multiple) image.

This looks like it was a daunting task. Was this done for a class? If so, which one?

Thanks.

Hi Bunny:

Yes, this was an absolutely daunting task-but a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. It was a class assignment for the "Leveraging Layers" course.

I've been considering that one. But, often I feel absolutely exhausted after reading Richard's background information, and skim it only to realize that I missed important information. I wish he were more concise, as I need to be in the right frame of mind first and foremost. However, I did find that if one is tenacious and sticks with something, Richard is there for you as long as it takes to learn. #7848775
