The Last Breath

Description

ISO 100 : : f4 : : 15 secs
----------------------

Self portrait. Achieved by lying very still and wafting a colour-changing LED torch to and fro, in and out of my mouth!

Very little post-processing other than a little dodge + burn, some levels adjustment and very slight noise reduction.
----------------------

This is intended to depict my perception of the last moments of life slipping away.

Enjoy it while it's still inside you.

When I first glanced at this, I thought it was all created in PS. I'm very pleased to see that this is not the case. What creativity!!! Bravo! #1110254

Thank you for those comments - very much appreciated! It was difficult to stay still for 15 secs while moving my arm so much. Every other 'outtake' had my jaw moving or something.

Ultimately, I wanted to depict something that was very ethereal (I was in quite a melancholy mood) without the use of editing to achieve it, and I don't think I could have made it look more interesting in Photoshop. The 3D nature of the light tendrils are more easily achieved by photography I think.

Thanks again. #1119360

The last breath - many of us don't think about it. Many congratulations on getting the message across so well. It's a message worth talking about. I have isolated images from real worthwhile discussion for far too long. I hence congratulate you, not on the image, but on refining the art so well, for the sake of the undiscussed discussion, which is God. All praise is for God. #1222436
