The Australian White Ibis

Uploaded: October 31, 2008

Description

Australian White Ibis (Threskiornis molucca). I find these birds very hard to photograph. They are very timid and each time I come in a closer range ready to take the photo of them, they simply take off. Isn’t it frustrating :-). I took this photo a while ago but wasn’t very happy. The trees on the other side of the river cluttered the picture making it difficult to see the birds. I have managed to separate the birds from the messy background and blurred the trees significantly. I am submitting this photo to the Digital Darkroom.

Terrific job on this, Stan!
I used to creep up on them in my previous backyard, but they only allow so much distance before they fly away. #1026375
