I had to look up this bird...and just learned that there is an egret call "Reddish Egret"! What interesting information about these beautiful birds!! Thanks for having the identification correct so I could learn something new! I dont' think I've ever seen one in my photo shoots along the ocean. I will keep my eye out for them from now onl #1092664

This is the rarest of the Herons/Egrets in North America. There is also a White Morph version which I have a few photos. I know visually this is not as attractive as the White Egrets but once you watch them you would fall in love with their personality. They preform a dance when they are fishing, by dancing around and flapping their wings. They do this to either shade the water so fish will swim into the shaded area or for their visual advantage (I haven't figured out which). #1092686
