Hidden Beaver Pond

Uploaded: October 18, 2008

Description

Decided to drive up to the trail head of Crane Mtn since I had noted some possible nice scenes for a shot & the guide said that a short connector trail was "obviously once a farm field and orchard"... but I saw nary an apple tree! Don't know what they were talking about!

But my daughter & I had a nice short walk in the woods. The parking area looked like Grand Central... totally packed with overflow cars lining the sides of the small dirt access road for a few hundred feet. So I parked at the alternate trailhead, .2mi down, which, apparently, no one else seems know exists (even though they had to pass it to get to the main trailhead!)

Anyway, on getting back, needed to 'step behind a tree' and low and behold, there was this pretty beaver pond! Fortunately, I had brought my camera. :)
