Description

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has been in continuous operation for over 125 years, carrying passengers behind vintage steam locomotives. By luck, we were in Silverton when the train arrived. BP member Mike Clime took a photo of this same train about an hour earlier, just prior to its arrival in Silverton.

F5.6, 1/60th sec, ISO 100, 88mm focal length

AWESOME!!!!
I have rode the train from Durango to Silverton twice...the last time was in '06 and I belive the number of our train was 481. A few years prior to that I think this was the train we rode...It's Such A Wonderful ride!!
If you've never done it you should
take the time at least once.

This brings back so many memories. We rode this train, and some really beautiful stream shots on it but you have to be ready!
Also my dad drove one of these just like this for 21 years. I actually got to move one about 3 feet!..:)
