Description

After 3 very hot days it has started to rain lightly, the galahs were making the most of it. About 2 dozen of them were hanging upside down on the power lines crossing the highway through town. This picture is the best I could do while trying not to get my camera wet. Lens aperture F/3.2, shutter speed 1/158sec, focal length 36mm.

Many thanks. This is a really fun thing to watch, they swing up & down with their wings spead out, sometimes hanging by one leg, talking all the time. #6550898

We get pigeons and crows on the wires, nothing so entertaining as this group of Chatty Kathys.
Very cool semi-silhouette photo, Chris, especially taken "on the move" to protect your camera.

Great shot under difficult circumstances, Chris!
There were thousands of Galahs and White Cockatoos eating the spring grass seeds in Canberra while we were there, I have never seen so many just hanging around! #6556769

WAY cool capture, I would watch them forever.
hen I had my parrots I would spray them with a water bottle, they loved that and did the same thing.
