Wood for Winter

Uploaded: October 01, 2008

Description

Another photo from my Aunt's, Waldwick, WI, a rainy day, it stopped for a while to get a few shots,
This is the woodstove they will be using to heat their house in the winter.
I am not sure how this works exactly, I forgot to ask.
My mom said there is something running underground to take the heat to the house.
Comment's welcome and have a GREAT DAY!!!

It's a fascinated mechanism, how far is the house from here? Won't these woods be under the snow?? Is that corn fields behind? Ask one more question and you can kick my .....

Peaches, This is your name when your fingers are not in the right place on keyboard (=3QDU3W0):) Just thought you should know!
Any way cool picture and my guess is they are heating water that circulates in the house. Very clean and cheap way to heat!!

I lOvE the idea of the woodstove outside the house to heat all winter...sometimes I get tired of all the wood, bark, chips, etc..all over the floor IN the house. Must be some advantages to this arrangement..great comp, Nancy, and gives me food for thought! #6539669

Another colourful country scene, well taken. I am also very interested in how it works. You have started something now. I get a bit sick of all the wood chips, dirt & dust in the house, but I suffer it as I dislike the cold more. Good one=^..^= #6540091

A truly gorgeous scene and presentation, Peaches! I just love the colors, content and composition....beautiful work, Girl!!

P.S. you crack me up. I took that shot on and off like five times. I cloned out a logo on the shirt but did a sloppy job of it....had to keep on going back and fixing it...LOL #6540415

Thanks so very very much everyone, I really do appriciate all your wonderful commments and support, it was such a crappy day, I am happy it quit raining for a while to get a few shots around the area.
I will call my aunt and ask her how this system works and get back to you all.
I like the idea of the burner outside for safety reasons, but I am not sure I would like running outside in the snow and cold to fill it LOL!!!
Have a super ngiht!!!

Kumiko, LOL, I would never kick anyones B*** LOL! You can ask all the questions you want, will I know ALL the answers, Hmmmmmm, I will try LOL

Well, you are right on the wood being covered with snow, I am not sure if they are leaving the wood there or not, maybe they never thought of it getting wet. I am going to GUESS and say maybe 50-75 feet away from the house, and yes that is a corn field in the back.

Jim, LOL, thanks for your always make me smile comments!!!

Brenda, I think I will make her a big print for xmas, I will have to figure where they will print one BIG, as I will the first one as well, She will be surprised I am sure.

Robyn, when the colors are solid like that, I always use the paint brush LOL, LOTS easier!!!

Peaches- One of your better pictures. Excellent composition leading us across the grass. Lighting and clarity are outstanding. The red of the shed really stands out and yet is a compliment to the rest of the colors of the grass, the corn field, the sky. I love the richness of the colors. Details are outstanding from the shed, to the wood burner, the cords of wood, the corn in the field, the sky. All perfectly captured.
Outstanding work with this one.

Beautiful rural scene Peaches! I love taking photos of places like this, although I don't want to live there! :D I guess I have become quite the city girl myself. I used to always live in the country when I had a horse, but now I found out how much easier it is to live near all the stores! Anyway, interesting story too, and I really love this! #6557275

A great shot...love the saturated colors! Wish we had that much in...we are so far behind this year! Congrats on the EP! #6566892

Nancy (Peaches) Harker October 07, 2008

Thanks so very much Aimee and very nice to meet you.
I actually didn't saturate the colors, this is the out of camera capture, only sharpened.
I think because it had been raining and was no sun to burn out the colors, plus the filter.
Have a super day! #6567112
