We are here for breakfast

Due to the torrential rain & gale force winds we had while staying at the Shoal Bay caravan park recently, I guess shelter had to be taken where you could find it. We opened the caravan door to see what the scratching noise was & in came the Lorikeets. They stayed about half an hour talking away whilst sitting on the stove eating bread. Lens aperture F/2.8, shutter speed 1/60sec, focal length 6mm.

How funny they just come into where you are. They must be friendly or very brave espically sitting on a oven..lol Wonderful capture! :) #996883Chris Ebben September 11, 2008
I think they are a friendly type of bird & they probably get fed by all the holiday makers. I've never had them come in the caravan before, just as well I didn't have the stove on. #6443214Lorraine A. Cook September 11, 2008

Thank you all for your nice comments. These are wild birds around here, they just tame very easily. In my gallery I have a picture of them on my knee. #6464577Z. Banu September 20, 2008
